Full day of Radiology and Clinic!

Wednesday, August 26
Something that I may have to accept is that I am going to become a germaphobic by the time I am certified...actually I already am starting to become one! Today in clinic we went through two PEs on personal protective equipment and how to set up and take down our clinic area as we are preparing for actual patients. We go through a lot of gloves, masks, barriers, cavies, sterilization, etc. in order to make sure that the clinic is free of bacteria. We also practiced using the air-water syringe on a typodont...which was so fun because I felt that I was actually getting to use my hands more.
Radiology went really well because I have a better understanding of what I am dealing with this semester. I need to take advantage of my time and what I learn in lab because this is my only semester of practice before I have to perform on patients. I am excited to get started and to become more efficient on my radiographs. This will be more difficult for me because I don't have a lot of experience in this area, but I know that through practice I will be able to feel comfortable and confident in what I am doing...and hopefully not make too many mistakes along the way:)
